Making life better on the Esplanade

Open Requests for Proposals

In support of our mission to improve the in-park experience for the Esplanade’s millions of annual visitors, the Esplanade Association periodically releases requests for proposals for products and services in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Past Requests for Proposals

GroundBeat: The Esplanade’s FREE Riverfront Music Series

Spring 2022 | Call for Artists and Producers

The Esplanade Association (EA) accepted proposals from producers and artists interested in performing in GroundBeat: The Esplanade’s FREE riverfront music series.

GroundBeat was created in 2018 and aims to increase opportunities to perform on the Esplanade for producers and artists across greater Boston who are committed to increasing inclusivity and diversity in Boston’s arts scene. Performances will take place at one of the state’s most high-profile performing arts venues – the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell.

Proposals were due by April 8th, 2022 by 4pm.

Click here to read more details about the project, including schedule and selection criteria information.

Click here to download the Request for Proposal form. To be considered, proposals must be received by Samuel Englert, Esplanade Association Programs & Partnerships Manager.

Please contact Samuel with any questions.
Thank you for your interest – see you on the Esplanade!

Public Art Opportunity on the Esplanade

Spring 2022 | Electrical Box Mural Project

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming public art project on the Esplanade! The submission process for this opportunity has officially closed.

About the Electrical Box Mural Project:

In partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and Volunteers Incorporating Black Excellence, Inc. (VIBE), we are seeking up to four qualified artists to design and install murals on electrical boxes along the Charles River Esplanade. We welcome artists of all backgrounds, especially those from groups whose contributions and accomplishments have historically been underrepresented in the park.

Click here to read more details about the project, including schedule and artist stipend information.

For any questions or to request more information, please contact Rachel Surette, Esplanade Association Operations Coordinator.
