Visiting the Night Shift Beer Garden on the Esplanade

Relax after a long day at the beloved Night Shift Beer Garden while you watch sailboats go by on the Charles River. Visitors can enjoy a variety of fresh craft beers, wines, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages while relaxing under the enchanting trees of the Esplanade with views of the riverfront. The Beer Garden is family-friendly and also offers bathroom stations and bicycle racks for visitors.

Directions

Walking:

The Beer Garden is located closest to the footbridge from Dartmouth Street, which can be found where Dartmouth Street meets Back Street next to Storrow Drive. Once you have reached the Esplanade, begin to walk right until you find the first footbridge that crosses over the lagoon to your left. The Owl’s Nest is located on the right side once you have crossed this footbridge.

Visitors can also take the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge which is located between Beacon Street and Beaver Place, adjacent to David G Mugar Way. Once you have crossed the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge, continue straight to cross the footbridge that goes over the lagoon. Once you have crossed this footbridge, head left and you will soon find the Owl’s Nest past the Arthur Fiedler Statue.

MBTA: The Beer Garden is a six minute walk from Copley Station (Green Line).

Blue Bikes: The closest Blue Bikes stations are located where Beacon Street meets Dartmouth Street and where Beacon Street meets David Mugar Way (In front of Beacon Street access to Arthur Fiedler Footbridge).

Rideshare: Please instruct your driver to drop you at Back Street and Dartmouth and walk over the footbridge.

About the Night Shift Beer Gardens – Esplanade

In July 2018, the Esplanade Association announced a partnership with Night Shift Brewing, a seven-year-old brewery based out of Everett, MA, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation to bring the Owl’s Nest Beer Garden to the Esplanade. The name has officially changed from Owls Nest to Night Shift Beer Garden.
