What is a private Hatch Shell Dinner?
Hosting a private dinner on the stage of the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade is truly a one-of-a-kind evening. Up to a maximum of 20 guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, and dancing on this iconic stage. Dinner includes full open bar with beer, wine, specialty cocktail, passed hors d’oeuvres, appetizer, entrée, and desserts catered by MAX Ultimate. Décor, flowers, menu, and music to be determined by the host. Estimated cost covered by the Esplanade Association is $8,000.00. Note: The Esplanade Association has a limited number of Hatch Shell Dinners available each year.
Can I substitute my sponsorship benefits?
Generally we do not allow the substitution of benefits for the Moondance Gala. However, the first priority of our co-chairs and staff is to ensure our guests an unparalleled evening in the park. Is my sponsorship tax deductible?
If you attend the event, the non-tax deductible portion of each ticket purchased or included in your sponsorship is $175. If you do not attend the event, your sponsorship is 100% tax deductible.
Can I use my DAF to sponsor the Moondance Gala?
We are aware the IRS is reviewing whether donor advised funds may be used for any portion of fundraising event tickets and/or fundraising event sponsorships if the donor-advisor attends the event. DAFs may not provide any personal benefit to the donor, and individual tickets must be purchased through another funding source, in addition to the full sponsorship amount. The Esplanade Association recommends Moondance Gala sponsors consult their DAF manager, tax advisor, and legal counsel for definitive tax guidance. If you do not attend the event, your sponsorship may be funded 100% through your DAF.
