River Fit 2022
Free fitness classes on the Esplanade are back again for summer 2022!
River Fit consists of a variety of outdoor fitness classes— including dance fitness classes, high-intensity interval training, and yoga— that are taught for a range of experience levels and abilities. People of all ages and fitness-levels are invited to get fit for free in the park while enjoying beautiful riverfront views!

Zumba led by Healthworks
Mondays, July 11th – August 29th from 6:00PM-7:00PM
Hatch Shell Memorial
The Esplanade Association presents Zumba led by Healthworks at the Hatch Shell. Fusing Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, nothing is more fun and calorie-burning than a high-energy Zumba workout. Routines led by Healthworks instructors feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined with resistance training. Come showcase your dance moves and break a sweat on the Esplanade!a

Hatch Shell Memorial
River Fit: ‘Froca will take participants around the world, exposing them to new rhythms while they break a sweat! ‘Froca is a celebration of songs and dances from across Africa and the Caribbean. Set to popular African and Caribbean music, ‘Froca draws on movements and dances rooted in deep tradition as well as steps that have gained popularity in recent years. ‘Froca was created by Sylver Rochelin Randrianantenaina, a professional dancer and choreographer from Madagascar.
YOGA with B/SPOKE
Wednesdays, July 13th – August 31st from 7:30AM-8:30AM
YOGA is a vinyasa based practice for all levels, with intelligent and effective sequencing to help you flow through each posture intentionally. B/SPOKE‘s YOGA puts an emphasis on music that ebbs and flows with each portion of the class, to help you get out of your head and into your body. YOGA will begin with guided breath work and end with a mindful moment that will allow you to take the intention of class outside the studio and into your life.
Kick It By Eliza
Fridays, July 15th-September 2nd from 7:30AM – 8:30AM
Kick It is a 13-round fitness method that is music-driven and kickboxing-inspired. No equipment is needed except for a yoga mat, if desired. Some rounds target specific body parts (such as legs or arms), but most of the class is cardio focused. Plenty of options to modify are provided along the way, so this class truly is for everyone!
Fresh Air Fitness with Cindy (Pop-Up)
Tuesday, July 12th and August 9th at 10:00AM-11:00AM
This fun, outdoor class on the Esplanade
will include a full-body workout that prioritizes the needs of seniors,
with focused attention on efficient body mechanics
and injury prevention. We will offer a variety of exercises
that will increase your muscle strength, range of motion,
and make you more durable for daily activities.
Not only will you feel stronger, but you’ll
notice an increase in your energy level.

- Pre-registration is strongly preferred to ensure the safety of participants
- Vaccinated participants can go mask-free! We strongly encourage non-vaccinated participants to wear a mask or face covering.
- The Esplanade Association will have hand sanitizer available on-site.
- Stay home if you feel sick and/or are part of a vulnerable population
