The Esplanade Association (EA) is looking for eager, team-oriented, and environmentally conscious individuals interested in joining our ambassador program!
Ambassadors will make a regular weekly/monthly commitment to directly assist EA staff in a variety of ways: supporting free programs/events, facilitating groups in park care and stewardship, collecting data on park use, and more. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership, stewardship, and event experience and to contribute directly to the organization’s mission of enhancing and revitalizing the Charles River Esplanade and creating community in the park.

Volunteer Ambassador Role may include:
Corporate Volunteer Program Support
- Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 9:30am-12:00pm; Season runs April-November
- Greet volunteers and passerby interested in learning more about EA’s role in the community
- Assist EA staff setting up volunteer stations including tables, chairs, and volunteer equipment
- Lead volunteer tasks. Provide materials and explain volunteer tasks to all volunteers. Groups may vary from 10 to 75 volunteers.
- Communicate EA’s role in the community including upcoming events and projects and long-term goals for the park.
Program & Event Support
- Assist EA staff in physical set-up and breakdown of programs & events hosted by the Esplanade Association as able
- Act as a liaison for park visitors on behalf of the Esplanade Association
Data Collection
- Conduct survey and data collection initiatives in park in order to better understand park needs and public interest
Park Stewardship
- Support EA’s park operations team in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for park visitors including trash pick-up, raking, sweeping, etc
Marketing Support
- Support outreach and marketing efforts through physical flyer, virtual flyering, and other outreach efforts to share with the Great Boston Community about upcoming free programs & events for all to enjoy
Logistics
Participation will potentially be required for select evening and weekend events and an occasional holiday; these may include Board, volunteer, fundraising, and programming activities as assigned.
