In support of our mission to improve the in-park experience for the Esplanade’s millions of annual visitors, the Esplanade Association periodically releases requests for proposals for products and services in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Construction Manager Services

The Esplanade Association seeks proposals from qualified consultants to provide Construction Manager Services for the Charlesbank Landing development project on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston. Please see the linked RFP packet for additional details.

The Project will be completed in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

We invite qualified applicants to submit proposals via email by 4pm on Monday, September 25th, 2023.

Bikeway Crossings and Safety Signage Project

We are excited to announce that we are seeking proposals from pavement marking companies for the implementation of two bikeway crossings and the introduction of new safety signage. The proposed locations for these improvements are at two of the Esplanade’s highly frequented footbridge entrances– Fairfield and Dartmouth St.

Please find the detailed Request for Proposal (RFP) linked here that provides further insight into our project requirements, scope, and timelines. Please submit proposals directly to Rachel Surette, Project Operations & Sustainability Coordinator at rsurette@esplanade.org by 5pm on August 25.

GroundBeat: The Esplanade’s FREE Riverfront Music Series

The Esplanade Association (EA) accepted proposals from producers and artists interested in performing in GroundBeat: The Esplanade’s FREE riverfront music series.

GroundBeat was created in 2018 and aims to increase opportunities to perform on the Esplanade for producers and artists across greater Boston who are committed to increasing inclusivity and diversity in Boston’s arts scene. Performances will take place at one of the state’s most high-profile performing arts venues – the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell.

Proposals were due by April 8th, 2022 by 4pm.

Public Art Opportunity on the Esplanade

Spring 2022 | Electrical Box Mural Project

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming public art project on the Esplanade! The submission process for this opportunity has officially closed.

About the Electrical Box Mural Project:

In partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and Volunteers Incorporating Black Excellence, Inc. (VIBE), we are seeking up to four qualified artists to design and install murals on electrical boxes along the Charles River Esplanade. We welcome artists of all backgrounds, especially those from groups whose contributions and accomplishments have historically been underrepresented in the park.
